I am a coffee enthusiast who lives in sunny Los Angeles, California.

Most of us have, at some point, considered what we would do if we could travel back in time. Maybe we would give ourselves some hot investment advice and become millionaires, or change history for the better, or witness our favorite historical event.

One year ago, I decided to focus on my passion – trying distinct coffees from around the world. I researched hundreds of different coffees in 20 countries. Also, for three months, I worked 50 hours a week building and launching my startup. And my total costs were less than a bag of Kopi Luwak coffee.

Americans consume about 400 million cups of coffee per day for many different reasons.

Coffee is the second most popular drink in the world, with water holding the number one spot. Did you know? Coffee beans are packed with antioxidants and vitamins such as riboflavin, magnesium, and potassium, coffee can help to lessen depression, promote a healthy heart, and reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, liver disease, and liver cancer.

Since coffee contains caffeine, this popular beverage can help people feel less tired, increase energy levels, burn fat by jump-starting the body’s metabolism, and improve productivity and brain function—including memory, mood, reaction times, and general mental function.

For many people, coffee is the first beverage consumed in the morning and can be relied upon for energy to help them get through the day. For some, the smell and taste of coffee are comforting.

If you are deprived of sleep, having a cup of your favorite brew can help you feel more relaxed and ready to be productive. If you live in a cold climate, having a hot cup of coffee can be the ultimate remedy to warm the soul. If you live in a hot climate, you have the option of having your favorite coffee drink iced.

Similar to social alcohol drinking at a bar, people enjoy gathering at coffee shops to meet with friends or to conduct a business meeting. Many coffee shops promote a relaxing environment with inviting décor, music performances, and more.

Dating back centuries, coffee shops were and continue to be a venue where people can gather to talk, write, read, work, entertain one another, or simply pass the time. Need to catch up with your best friend? Have a crush on a special someone? Meeting up for coffee is a great option.

So, Who Is The Coffee Shop Lady?

I’m Sherry Harris. I start each day with a cup of coffee. Worldwide, people like you, and I drink about 2.5 billion cups of coffee a day. For years, I have wanted to combine my love of coffee with my entrepreneurial spirit, which is why I opened up this digital coffee shop.

I’ve been a coffee drinker since I was a kid. Every Saturday, I was allowed to have a small cup of Folgers and I savored every moment.

In 1991, I started working in tech at Hughes Communications, DirecTV, and with business partners, AOL, Tivo, and Wink, and then I moved onto Experian, and a few more places I can’t remember. If you know anything about tech, we drink a lot of coffee working on projects. As time went by, I started trying out more and more blends and brands.

Later, I began traveling around the world tasting coffee everywhere I went. That was an education within itself and I loved every moment of it.

If you have been drinking coffee for a short or long time, but never learned the in’s and out’s, you’re going to love this website. I lay everything out in layman’s terms. No techno-coffee-babble here! If that’s you, you have landed in the right place.
